Plan the transfer before adding toppings

A finished shape is easier to manage with a clear route to the oven.

A useful starting point

Choose the tray, pan or other baking arrangement before shaping. Follow its instructions and the recipe’s guidance for loading the pizza. Keep the route clear and use suitable protection when handling hot equipment. Discovering that a topped pizza is too large for the intended surface creates avoidable pressure at the busiest moment.

Bring it into your kitchen

Practise the sequence with a manageable portion and modest toppings. Do not improvise a material or tool that the equipment manufacturer does not permit. If the transfer method feels uncertain, use a simpler compatible pan-based recipe next time. A successful handoff is part of the preparation, not a performance that has to look like a professional pizza-maker’s technique.

Before your next pizza night

  • Choose the baking arrangement first.
  • Keep the transfer route clear.
  • Follow equipment instructions.
